A £20 million two year free school meal pilot is taking place in Durham and Newham and will provide universal free school meals.
- The pilot will focus on:
- Reduction in obesity
- Changing eating habits at home
- Behaviour and academic performance
- Improvement to school standards
- Improvement to health and well being
