CaterMap are experienced, independent, specialist catering advisors working exclusively within the UK education sector to provide hands-on catering consultancy, support, advice and direction.
Our task is to help you achieve and maintain outstanding catering services which are popular and affordable. Our two principal catering consultants each have more than twenty five years practical experience of catering within schools, colleges and universities.
John Crowther, FRSH
John has worked as a chef, catering manager, area manager, regional manager and an independent consultant specialising in all sectors of UK education catering. He has successfully negotiated change, restructuring and initiated improvements for more than 200 schools, colleges and universities around the country.
A career spanning over twenty five years in the catering industry has equipped John to offer a wide variety of knowledgeable and impartial advice to clients who appreciate his straight forward, no-nonsense approach to problem solving, standards improvement and profit or loss management.
Nigel Harris, HCI
Nigel joined a growing contract catering company in 1988 and led the business and industry sector in the South West, before initiating and developing the education division for a major caterer in the West of England and South Wales.
Nigel has worked as a catering consultant since 2002, with clients including Mowlem Aqumen (PFI) and Bristol City Council. With many years experience, a deep knowledge and strong affinity with the educational catering industry, Nigel applies practical and level-headed work methods to problem solving, people management and business growth.
Nigel has also served as a maintained secondary school governor and was chair of governors for a two year period.
